Before You Apply — What to Expect

1. Technology Requirements

✅Hardware & OS Requirements

  • A reliable laptop or desktop computer 🧑‍💻
  • Able to run modern browsers and required tools
  • Ability to install software
  • Windows Users: Recommended for the smoothest experience. Windows 10/11 is required for the Uniface Community Edition and MultiValue environments.
  • Linux Users: Supported for the MultiValue path.
  • macOS Users: macOS is not natively supported for Uniface or MultiValue. If you use a Mac, you must have the technical knowledge to set up and maintain a Virtual Machine (e.g., VirtualBox) running Windows to participate.
  • Performance: Your system must be capable of running your development environment (VM or Native) simultaneously with a high-definition video call (Discord/Google Meet).

✅Connectivity Requirements 🌐

In a remote development environment, your internet connection is your "office." We use Discord for daily community interaction and Google Meet for deep-dive technical mentorship sessions.

  • Speed Standard: A minimum of 25 Mbps Download and 5 Mbps Upload.
  • Screen Share: Your connection must be stable enough to share your screen at 720p resolution.
  • Professional Setup: We strongly recommend a wired Ethernet connection. If you are on Wi-Fi, ensure you are close to the router. High latency (lag) prevents mentors from seeing your keystrokes in real-time, which halts the learning process.

Note: These are base requirements for a single user. You will need more if you are sharing your connection with others, especially if they are streaming 4K Netflix/YouTube or uploading large files, as this will cause your screen share to lag or freeze.

✅A working webcam (required for meetings) 🎦

Our sessions are interactive and relationship-based. Cameras stay on during mentor calls and group meetings.

In today’s corporate environment, especially in remote work settings, video presence is standard. Many employers expect candidates and employees to be visible and engaged during virtual meetings.

Part of our training is helping you build confidence communicating face-to-face on camera in a professional setting.

If being on camera feels uncomfortable right now, that’s normal — and it’s something we help you grow into.

✅Audio Communication🎙️

Clear audio is the most critical part of a remote meeting. If we can't hear you, we can't help you.

  • Equipment: A dedicated headset or external microphone is required.
  • Noise Cancellation: Built-in laptop microphones often pick up internal fan noise or keyboard clacking while you code. You must be able to communicate in a quiet environment to ensure a professional 1-on-1 session.

✅ Discord Account (Required)

Our community, announcements, study coordination, and group discussions currently operate through Discord. Active participation in Discord is required to remain informed and engaged within the program. We also recommend, to ensure the best experience, we recommend using the Discord desktop app.

2. Communication & Responsiveness

Professional growth includes learning how to communicate consistently.

Students are expected to:

  • Attend scheduled mentor calls
  • Respond to emails, Discord messages, or texts when contacted
  • Be available for occasional phone calls from ACE Tech team members
  • Provide progress updates when requested

We may reach out by phone not only for accountability, but because we want to know you — your goals, your challenges, and how we can serve you better.

We treat communication as part of your professional training. In most companies, responsiveness is viewed as reliability and reliability builds opportunity.

3. Time Commitment

This program is structured and requires steady effort.

Minimum expectations based on employment status:

Unemployed

  • 6–8 hours per day, 5 days per week

Part-time employed

  • 4–5 hours per day, 5 days per week

Full-time employed

  • 4–8 hours per week

These standards are designed to build real skill and momentum. Consistency is more important than intensity.

If your schedule is tight right now, do not let that stop you from applying. Many students begin with limited availability and build momentum over time. We simply ask that you communicate your situation clearly in your application so we can understand how to support you appropriately.

Progress is possible at different speeds. Transparency helps us guide you well.

4. Participation & Growth

 Students are expected to:

  • Attend mentor sessions (no more than one missed per month)
  • Submit assignments on time
  • Contribute to discussions
  • Maintain respectful, professional communication

We simulate real-world expectations in a supportive environment. This gives you a safe place to learn professional etiquette before it impacts your career.

5. Professional Conduct

We maintain a respectful and focused learning space.

Not permitted:

  • Harassment or discrimination
  • Academic dishonesty
  • Sharing login credentials
  • Distributing proprietary materials

Our goal is to protect the integrity of the program and the opportunities it creates employers.

6. What You Can Expect From Us

If you commit to the process, we commit to you.

ACE Tech provides:

  • Structured learning modules
  • Access to mentors who are experienced professionals working with MultiValue (MV) or Uniface, offering guidance, industry insight, and real-world perspective

  • Peer collaboration opportunities
  • Real-world project simulations
  • Resume guidance and career preparation

  • Access to official Rocket Software training materials at no cost to you
  • Ongoing ability to audit future Rocket Software training updates as new versions are released

  • Exposure to additional IT skill development tracks as they become available
  • Preparation for Rocket Software certifications to strengthen your resume
  • A formal interview opportunity after successfully completing at least halfway through either the MultiValue (MV) Path or the Uniface Path

  • Potential introductions to industry opportunities
  • Certificate of completion upon meeting requirements

Through our partnership structure, students gain access to high-level training resources that would otherwise require direct enrollment or payment. Our goal is to position you with current, relevant technical knowledge aligned with industry needs.

We invest heavily in students who show up consistently.

7. Important Realities

  •  Completion time varies based on background, consistency, and prior experience.
  • Students with prior professional IT experience may be ready for interviews within a few months.
  • Students entering with no prior technical background may take a year or longer.
  • Participation does not guarantee employment.
  • Growth requires discipline and accountability.
  • Students who consistently disengage may be removed.

Additionally, participation in this program establishes a professional relationship with ACE Tech Resources. Students may not independently pursue or accept employment opportunities in MultiValue, Uniface, or related fields introduced or facilitated through this training without coordination through ACE Tech.

Accepting outside offers in these specialized fields while actively enrolled in the program may constitute a breach of agreement and may result in removal from the program and enforcement of contractual remedies as outlined in the formal enrollment agreement.

This structure exists to protect the integrity of the training model and the partnerships that make this opportunity possible.

Moving Forward

This program is designed to help you understand professional boundaries so you can operate confidently within them.

Corporations have structure and structure is not a cage, it is a framework.

When you understand the framework, you gain freedom inside it.

We are genuinely excited about working with individuals who are ready to grow, commit, and develop into strong professionals within the MultiValue and Uniface community.

If this resonates with you, we encourage you to apply.

We look forward to learning more about you.

CHOOSE YOUR PATH:

MV? Uniface? or Both?

We currently offer two primary learning journeys: the MultiValue (MV) path and the Uniface path, built around industry-standard tools and training from Rocket Software.

You’re not locked into a single path, choosing one simply helps us better tailor guidance, resources, and mentorship to your goals. As you progress, you can explore the other path at any time.

For those interested in a broader skill set, you may also pursue both paths as a Full-Stack journey, combining the MultiValue database backend with modern application development using Uniface.
